Abstract

Introduction: In the contemporary organizational environment, gender homogeneity remains a persistent challenge, often stemming from structural segregation. Despite trends towards inclusivity, certain sectors continue to experience gender imbalances, which directly affect team dynamics and overall productivity. Methodology: This paper relies on a systematic literature review and an analysis of theoretical frameworks. The study synthesizes fundamental research in team performance, organizational behavior, and social psychology to identify the functional characteristics of gender-homogeneous teams. Results: The theoretical analysis demonstrates that gender homogeneity creates significant social and cognitive barriers. Specifically, homogeneous teams exhibit a high risk of "groupthink." Depending on the gender composition, specific toxic models emerge: "Masculinity Contest Culture" (MCC) in male-dominated teams and "relational aggression" in female-dominated groups. These patterns reduce psychological safety, suppress dissenting opinions, and hinder innovation. Conclusion: The paper confirms that gender diversification is a strategic prerequisite for organizational effectiveness. The author emphasizes the necessity for organizations to replace tokenism with structural interventions, such as implementing whistleblowing mechanisms, institutionalizing the role of a "devil’s advocate," and adopting inclusive recruitment policies.
