The Development of Family Medicine in Taiwan

The reform of the health care system started in Taiwan in 1995 contributed to the development of the family physician system in the country. The goal of the reform was comprehensive, continuous care for patients through the primary health care system. The reform has had a positive impact on improving patient outcomes, reducing healthcare costs, and increasing patient satisfaction. The article discusses the challenges and future visions of the primary health care system, including the need to strengthen the role of family physicians in the health care system.
