Abstract

Introduction. Environmental pollution has been a global character at the present stage of human development. From global threats, environmental pollution has become one of the most important factors. The aim of this study was to examine the attitude of young people, particularly students in environmental issues. Methodology. Within the scope of the study, we have used a triangular approach to study the issue in details. We talked to the expert at the beginning of the research. Furthermore, we conducted 2 focus groups and 4 in-depth interviews. The target group were students who are studying at the university of bachelor's and master's level. Students were selected through non-profit selection, namely based on targeted or evaluative selection. Results. As for the results of the research, it is revealed that the respondents have different associations regarding environmental protection. According to the respondents, the most important problem in Georgia is air pollution, water resources and soil pollution, as these three components are of vital importance to human beings. Respondents are less involved in environmental activities. The part of the respondents who have never participated in such a measure justifies their actions by the fact that the environment is not delayed by its individual actions. Respondents think that actions taken by government for solving problems of state environment are more or less useful, but the implementation and monitoring of the law is less and it is necessary to tighten it. Education is very important in terms of raising awareness of human consciousness. It emphasizes both informal and formal education, which envisages studying environmental issues in schools and universities. Conclusion. To summarize, the environment where we are living has a great influence on ourselves and our health, maintaining the environment and cleanness in every human's interest, since the damaged environment is harmful to people who live in an unhealthy way of life.
